Music production
in Ableton Live
Group or individual. Online or offline.
Hello friends. My name is Andrey Rublev. In 2018, our school began with my course on music creation, and today it is our main direction!

I have been involved in music since 1996. From the very beginning, I wanted to play live, and I played my first live performance a couple of years later, and soon went on my first local and then international tours. I have worked in various genres from disco and liquid funk to electroclash, neoclassical, and IDM, and all of it was around what is commonly called "underground". My first release was in 2000, and the latest was released this year.

I also had great mentors, and from the beginning, I acquired a bunch of synthesizers and equipment, mixed and mastered my own music. After moving to St. Petersburg, a friend and I opened a booking agency and toured with colleagues in the CIS and Europe. I also actively helped other musicians finalize their tracks. There were ups and downs, but as one of my friends said: "Music, like water, always finds a way out." And it did.

All this experience formed the basis of my Ableton Live course. This is not just a story about synths or arrangement, but about the philosophy of creativity, methods of finding ideas, motivation, hard and soft skills. I will teach you how to generate ideas and finish tracks. And then release them.

Everyone loves listening to music, and composing it is an incomparable pleasure. It's the real meditation and ecstasy. I'm happy to share what I know with you.

The most important thing in the course is a systematic approach. In the course, everything is broken down into categories the way I would like to study it myself if I had to start from scratch. Music is a complex science, but it can be mastered playfully and with great enjoyment.
Of course, you can learn from YouTube lessons, but you will most likely get lost in the volume of information. I will guide you carefully through this difficult but interesting path and teach you how to navigate it again and again. Just trust me.

In the course, you will only study the music that is interesting to you specifically. We manage to work with a wide range of styles because the tools of modern music are practically identical. However, we focus on the music that you listen to, study it, and extract recipes from it.

By following the homework system, you will definitely reach the end. It's okay if you miss something; you can always take an extra lesson or watch already recorded lessons on our private resources.

You will join a cozy community and have access to samples, plugins, and other useful materials. Our channels are constantly updated, and the courses are improved!

What courses do we have?
Ableton Live Beginner
A course for those who have no experience creating music on a computer or have done it sporadically and forgotten everything. The main thing here is systematicity. On this course, you will learn a little bit of everything: the interface, terminology, the basics of music theory, beat making and arranging, mixing algorithms, and mastering.

If you attend the classes and do the homework, by the end of the course, you will have created a finished track of your chosen genre that you can release independently or on our label.
Ableton Live PRO
For the PRO course, we invite those who have already created at least a couple of finished tracks and who don't need to be explained what samples and decibels are, but need to move on to the "next level" of production.

In such a course, there is much more immersion into details, a deep study of effects and plugins, we study more types of synthesis, learn to process vocals, record "real instruments". If on the beginner's course, we deal with what a compressor is, then on the PRO course, we already study how optical compression differs from VCA and Vari-Mu.
Individual Program
If you are confident in some of your skills but need to selectively improve others, we will create an individual training program for you. Sometimes people come to us to fill gaps in their music theory knowledge while having good sound engineering skills, and sometimes they focus on mixing and mastering. As a rule, such a program takes at least 20 hours.

Of course, such classes are only available in an individual format (either in-person or online).

Please note that we also have specialized courses in music theory, synthesis, mixing, and mastering.
Each course is available for both in-person and online learning.
You can take each course individually or in a group.
How to choose a course and what do you need for it?
Let's figure it out.
Come to a trial lesson!
We will gladly answer any questions.
It's free, in-person or online.
Beginners full course:
"From Idea to Release"
On this course, you will learn all the basics of music production from scratch and create your first track using Ableton Live. All you need is a computer (a laptop would be great) and headphones. You can download the free version of Ableton Live Suite from the official Ableton.com website.

We will thoroughly cover the program interface, beat making, sound physics, basic arrangement, synthesis, elementary music theory, mixing, and mastering. You will see the entire path from idea to publication.
If you wish, your track will be released on the label of our school, and it can be listened to anywhere in the world on all existing online resources.

We will provide you with programs, plugins, samples, useful links, and access to all the resources of the school and community.

The course is available in a group or individual format, in-person or online.

PRO-course: immersion into details.
This course is designed for those who have already composed several compositions and want to move from the level of "beginning producer" to the category of "professional", but are not yet able to bring their tracks to a "studio" quality. We will take your works and together we will improve them, using all our knowledge and equipment.

In this course, we do not compromise on quality and share all the "tricks" that we have learned for ourselves. We will gladly release finished tracks on our label or help prepare them for release on serious labels.
The school's studio is equipped with high-class monitoring, quality sound equipment, microphones, powerful computers, and a whole range of classic and new synthesizers and drum machines.

The program includes a deep dive into mixing and mastering, recording vocals and live instruments. We will also try to make remixes and play jams.

If an online format is available or convenient for you, we will also be able to record "hardware" sessions: we will help you master your instruments and groove boxes.
